Accessibility Policy

Our commitment and compliance

Chrysalis Communications is fully committed to making sure everyone, including those with visual or hearing impairments, is able to access all of the information on our website.

We are close to being completely compliant with the WCAG 2.0 level AA standards of accessibility and have listed known limitations and alternatives below. We encourage you to email info@chrysaliscomms.com if you have trouble accessing any portion of the website not listed. Please include specific details about the problem you’re having and your browser, operating system, and device type.

In February 2024 we established a new policy to actively maintain and monitor our website accessibility. This includes:

  • Conducting an accessibility audit at least once a quarter.

  • Conducting an accessibility audit of any new page being added to the site.

  • Including accessibility guidelines and considerations in the development of any new page for the site.

Our last audit was conducted in February, 2024

Known limitations and alternatives

During our most recent accessibility audit, we encountered two potential limitations.

  1. Uploaded images for client logos in the “Our Work” section may not include text alternatives due to limitations from the template we used on our website platform. We’re looking for a similar design option that allows the inclusion of alt text in all scenarios.

The photos currently include logos for the following clients: Obama for America 2012, José Andrés Group, Children’s National Hospital Foundation, L’Oreal USA, American Beverage Association, Oxfam, AmeriCorps, Stellantis, Ibis Reproductive Health, Harvard University Joint Center for Housing Studies, American Heart Association, and U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

  2. When increasing the magnification of the page, some elements of the menu bar in the page header are pushed off the screen because of a technical problem with where the text is pinned. We’ve adjusted the horizontal offset across the header to increase the zoom level and prevent the disappearing content from negatively impacting the experience or usability of the site.

    1. The “Chrysalis Communications” logo on the left begins to move off the screen at 150% resolution.

Alternative: Instead of clicking the “Chrysalis Communications” logo on the top left of the menu bar to return to the top of the home page, click “home,” also on the left.

    2. The language option on the right begins to move off the screen at 200% resolution, potentially making it difficult for users with visibility issues to distinguish the flag icons without the language descriptors in the text.

Alternative: To switch languages at 200% zoom, click the flag icon, and the alternative language will appear in the dropdown menu. As the site is currently only available in English and French, there will only be one option available in the dropdown menu, for the language not currently displayed.
